I’m Lenise Peterman, current mayor of Helper, Utah. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and much of my career has been spent in the litigation support industry, working with major companies like General Motors, Ford, Dow Chemical, and Exxon.
Since making Helper my home, I’ve dedicated myself to the community — serving as Co-Director of the Helper Arts, Music and Film Festival and Co-Chair of the Helper Revitalization Committee. These roles, along with my professional background in documentation, process design, and creative problem solving, have shaped how I lead: with structure, collaboration, and purpose.
As mayor, my goal is simple but powerful — to create a sustainable, thriving community by building on what makes Helper special: our history, our creativity, and our incredible natural setting. I believe in bringing people together to shape what’s next and reimagine all that Helper can be.
